Yodha Box Office Collection Day 4: Big Drop? Siddharth Malhotra’s Movie Earns ₹2.5 Crore

Sidharth Malhotra’s high-octane action film Yodha had a promising start at the box office, but its performance seems to be slowing down. While it managed decent collections over the weekend, the movie witnessed a significant drop on its fourth day, raising questions about its overall success.

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Yodha earned an estimated ₹16.85 crore net in India during its first three days. However, on Monday, the film’s collections took a steep dive, raking in only around ₹2.15 crore net. This translates to a drop of over 50% compared to its Sunday collections of ₹7 crore.

Yodha’s opening day collections of ₹4.1 crore fell short of other recent releases like Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon’s “Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya” (Rs 6.7 crore) and Ajay Devgn, R Madhavan, and Jyothika’s “Shaitaan” (Rs 14.75 crore).

Adding to Yodha’s woes is the strong competition from “Shaitaan,” directed by Vikas Bahl. The horror film not only had a much higher opening but also managed to collect more on its second Monday (Rs 3 crore) than Yodha did on its first. Currently, “Shaitaan” stands at a staggering ₹106.05 crore net (according to Sacnilk).

Yodha opened to mixed reviews from critics, with some praising the action sequences but criticizing the plot and narrative. This might have contributed to the lower footfall in theaters.

The movie witnessed an overall occupancy rate of only 10.36% on its fourth day. Even in major cities like Mumbai (9.75%) and Delhi NCR (11.25%), the occupancy remained low. Interestingly, the highest occupancy was recorded in Chennai (30.50%), but it only had a limited number of shows (36).

Sidharth Malhotra’s Yodha had a promising start but has faced challenges in its fourth day. The significant drop in collections and competition from other releases raise questions about its long-term commercial viability. The coming days will be crucial in determining its overall box office performance.
